PIMS Globe, a component of PiMSlider®, is the module to display all geographical information related to PIMS


Representing the new flagship module to the PiMSlider® suite of software applications, PiMS Globe is a virtual globe program that allows a pipeline operator to navigate to any point along a transportation system, providing a 3-dimensional view of the pipeline, of defects, of terrain and of any kind of object represented along the pipeline.

Based on standards available from dynamic online maps and rich geospatial technology, PiMS Globe can connect to almost any source of mapping data, and combined with the details of the pipeline (for example, directly connecting to a PODS or APDM database), can present a completely interactive experience to help visualise and manage any transportation network. No further interface development or adjustments required - just plug it in, and go!


PiMS Globe offers 3-d surface reconstruction displayed according to elevation data. Using modern graphic technology, we are capable to reconstruct surface with a very high precision whilst maintaining excellent performance on large amounts of data.


Any object can be added and displayed on the pipeline. Hints, points, areas of interest and proximity zones are available to suit all visual requirements.


Different map layers are supported. A user can import custom maps into PiMS Globe or to use global Internet coverage sources. There are several Internet sources for aerial photo and topographical maps available.


There are additional rendering and processing techniques available for offshore pipeline assessement. Coloration by factor value, elevation highlight and tracing covered pipelines in 3-d mode.
